The Clare Valley is simply spectacular and offers challenging and rewarding hiking through native bushland, gullies, mountains, vineyards, and farmland.
Along the way you will see wildlife including Kangaroos, Echidna & Cockatoos. Grand historic homesteads dot the landscape as well as settler stone ruins, cellar doors where you can wine taste and cute villages where you can stock up on food and drinks.
We offer several products which utilise the Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail, the partially completed 100km hiking trail due for completing in April 2022.
We will offer both guided and self guided tours, where we support you in all aspects of the logistics, including picking you up from Adelaide (if required), luggage transfer between accommodation, all food including dinner bookings and gourmet cut lunches, and if you accommodation is off the trail, we’ll come and pick you up at the end of the day and drive you to wherever you are staying.
All you need to do is carry a small day pack which we can supply and follow the trail.
Our Hiking Heritage
Clare Valley Wine Tours is operated by Travelwild Australia, who have been specialising in Outback Adventure Travel since 1997. We are hikers from years ago and are very excited about bringing this style of product to the Clare Valley. Travelwild Australia’s owner, Tim Grigg, lives in Clare and is one of the instigators of the Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail and continues to work toward the completion of this exception public walking trail

The Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail
Due for completion by mid May 2023, the Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail is a community project tasked with planning and building a 110km specialist public hiking trail around the Clare Valley Region.
In addition to the stunning wilderness and rural landscapes, the trail will also highlight to the Premium Wine & Food industries for which the Care Valley is famous, passing many wineries and cellar doors, as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes.
