We had a fantastic experience with Clare Valley Wine Tours over the long weekend. The service was exceptional from start to finish, with everything handled seamlessly and professionally. A special mention to Nicole, who was incredibly accommodating and effortlessly managed all of our itinerary changes. Nothing was too much trouble. Calvin Boyle70 days agoWe had a group of 10 & as such had a private wine tour. Nicole was very helpful in the lead up of the tour & Steve, our guide, was great on the day. The tour gave us a comprehensive view of Clair Valley wines & some of its history. The lunch was excellent. If you do the tour, you will not be disappointed.Posted on Google

Kim Parsons163 days agoWe just experienced a fantastic 3 day walking and wine tour with Tim and Bianca .. Everything was amazing the tour in the beautiful Clare Valley was not too difficult and we were rewarded with delicious food and Clare Valley wines.. The accommodation at the Lodge was very comfortable and wonderfully located surrounded by wildlife and early morning visits from some cheeky kangaroos performing just for us.. JULIE KITCHEN184 days agoWe booked a party of four on a Private Wine Tour with lunch. It was amazing. Steve, our driver was very knowledgeable about the area and the commentary as we wound our way from vineyard to vineyard was really informative. They allowed us to customise the tour, so we included a distillery and a brewery. The highlight was Hill River and the lovely Kath. The lunch at Paulette's was sublime, and oh the view. Carole Blackburne402 days agoMy husband and I had Steve as our tour driver in late August 2025. Very prompt pick up at our Cottage accommodation in Clare. We both had an amazing day and also a bit of a history lesson of Clare, which we had never been to before. Wonderful lunch at Paulette's. In fact all of the wineries gave us such a warm welcome. Great advice for different wineries offering specific grape varieties and general tourist information. Steve provided the appropriate amount of attention when required and gave us space to enjoy our wine tastings together. Gazza58461 days agoI sometimes drive a wine tour bus in one of WA's premier wine areas, so I can be quite critical. This tour was an excellent day out. Our driver, Steve, was very knowledgeable & had a great sense of humour. The establishments we visited were top class and there was absolutely no time pressure. A good company who delivers what they say. Had Steve as our guide and we were the only ones on the tour. The car was a Mercedes van and very comfortable. Steve was able to provide commentary on the history of the area and the wineries. If you want to visit a few wineries and not worry about the risk of being done for drunk driving. Kathryn Newman569 days agoA great day was had with Tim our tour guide from Clare Valley Wine Tours. Tim was very flexible, accommodating us with a tour of the Clare Valley that wasn't just wineries. We visited Seven Hills Winery, then headed off to The Jaeschke's Family farm for tea & scones with Rob & Lyn. After Rob showed off his big display of tractors, we headed to Seven Hills pub for a appetising lunch. Back on the bus we then took a stroll back in time and visited Martindale Hall in all its majesty. A quick coldie at the Magpie & Stump Hotel,a leisurely scenic drive through the valleys and back to our accommodation at The Bentley Hotel. We all enjoyed this day so much. Kathryn C569 days agoOld Mate Biker's Today we had one of the best experiences shared as a group of 13 friends. It was a wonderful day. A big thankyou to Tim our tour guide, who managed to share many interesting places within the Clare Valley. The adventure began with a trip to the Seven Hills Winery, then off to Jaeschke's family farm for tea & scones with Rob & Lyn. The boys loved poking around the display of tractors, and the girls loved the restorations and history surrounding the old buildings. We had a great lunch at the Seven Hills pub, and then took another stroll back in history at the beautiful Martindale Hall. A quick stop for a coldie at the Magpie & Stump Hotel and a peaceful ride home through the valleys back to our Bentley Hotel accommodation. Every place we went to Welcomed us. The staff at each winery were bright and friendly, helpful. We were never made to rush, there was no pressure. This made the day very enjoyable. His knowledge of the area and fun facts made it so memorable, as did the great people at the wineries we visited. Lunch at Paulettes was just outstanding. The food at Paulett Wines was exquisite and all the Wine tastings each from very different Wineries were provided by knowledgeable staff or owners. Perfect way to explore the Clare Valley wineries, without having to plan or drive yourself. I would definitely recommend that you try Clare Valley Wine tours.Posted on Google

MichaelDH644 days agoJust Perfect! Have learned from experience that Less is More in terms of wine tours. This one was pitched perfectly, 2 leisurely tastings, then a break for an awesome lunch platter (and optional glass of wine) at Paulettes. Then onto a final 2 excellent tastings. All wineries very generous in terms of the number of samples. The whole trip took over 6 hours so, a very relaxed pace in comparison to other tours that can rush you to as many wineries that can be crammed in. Steve, our driver and host, was brilliant company and a font of local knowledge. Thank you Steve. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough. A must do.Posted on Google

He clearly shows a lot of passion for the wine industry, and did a great job in picking the four cellar doors we visited. All of them provided a great experience, focused on personable and informative service, with good selections of premium whites and reds. Lunch at Paulette’s was another phenomenal experience, with great food and a beautiful view over the expanses of the Clare valley. We joined the group tour because of this and honestly, it was a fantastic turn of events. Steve had fantastic knowledge about the Clare area and the wine industry and he made everyone onboard feel very welcome and involved. Steve had a fun sense of humour as well as being polite at all times. The day was one of the best wine tours I have been on throughout many regions in Australia, thanks to Steve and his easygoing but totally professional attitude. Angela Pridham877 days agoEnjoyable private wine tour Very friendly driver, Steve, great vineyards, nice lunch. A very enjoyable private wine tour, all wineries were very welcoming with minimal pressure to buy.Just a little bit of feedback for improvement1. Would be nice to be given a card at the beginning of the tour to write down wines purchased. After 5 vineyards hard to remember what’s in the boxes of wines purchased.2 Whilst lunch was very nice, it was only 1 course and the wines they recommended with the dishes were not included in the paid lunch. We had to pay extra for these plus any sides. Given the cost of the tour we feel this could have been included and the tour operators may not be aware of this.3. We appreciated that only 1 vineyard charged for tastings, $10 or $20 pp depending on what you wanted to taste. Whilst this did come off the cost of the wine were you to purchase any, again we felt given the cost of the tour the tasting fee could have been absorbed by the tour. operator and felt a bit of pressure to get our moneys worth by buying a bottle.On the whole a good tour but a bit pricey for what was included.Posted on Google
Dee Roche885 days agoWe were collected by Steve at our hotel in Clare this morning to do a tour of some Clare Valley wineries. We had a wonderful time visiting a couple of wineries for some very delicious tastings and then headed off for lunch. The food was delicious, being mainly bush ingredients. Could have stayed there all afternoon looking at the most incredible views but there were more wineries to visit. In fact, every winery we went to was wonderful and we would totally recommend this tour to anyone and if you're fortunate enough to get Steve as your tour guide, you will be very lucky. He is a mine of information about the Valley which he obviously loves very much. All in all, one of the best wine tours we have ever done.Posted on Google

A warm, knowledgeable & engaging host taking us between a range of great views to taste a variety of quality wines, with as much time as we needed to get to know well the selection of each winery. Phantom23903 days agoGreat day out with Clare Valley Wine Tours We went on a private wine tour with Steve in early April 2024 with other family members. From the moment that Steve arrived to pick us up in his van, we knew that we would get on well and have a fantastic day. And we did! The weather was perfect and we had a great day. We visited 5 wineries in total, starting with Pikes, with lunch at Pauletts included. A particular highlight was being able to visit Grosset wines, which only opens to visitors for a short time each year. Steve was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. Me and the Mrs booked on it and we ended up been the only 2 people on the tour, really pleased they still ran it as we only had that 1 free day in the Clare Valley. We went with Stevo and he was such a great guide, lots of interesting facts about the area and a really sound guy. He was on great terms with the wineries we visited so we even got to check out the cellar and were lucky enough to try some wine that was mid processing from 100+ year old grapes. Bronwyn M980 days agoRelaxing Escape Highly recommend the Indulgence two day experience Hubby & l needed a relaxing escape especially not having to think about which places to visit, who was driving, where to dine, at the same time experience both the history & beauty of the Clare Valley. This tour certainly achieved this plus more through the selective & variable dining & winery choices. We’ve been lucky enough to have done a lot of wine tours so know that they do vary. Steve proved to be extremely knowledgeable and personable. His relationship with the guys at the cellar doors meant that at each one we were treated really well. Each winery was different and varied. On booking, we opted for the lunch included tour and are really glad we did. It was absolutely delicious in a beautiful setting. At what should have been the last vineyard of the day, Steve learnt that we like a certain unusual wine and a phone call later we were sat drinking it with the grower / producer. Kiwiphil_6351078 days agoGreat day out in the vines We booked this tour before we travelled. We were contacted 24 hours before to confirm the trip. (Maybe a bit late guys!) and we were picked up promptly at the agreed time at our accommodation in Clare. Our driver -Steve- was incredibly accommodating and professional making us feel right at home with the small group who were with us. The selection of wineries was diverse and showed us what the Clare was about. Everybody we met was passionate and knowledgeable about their place. Lunch was great. The wineries that we visited were a great cross section and Steve’s local knowledge and history added to the experience. I definitely would recommend, it was a great day. Gerald Connor1107 days agoWe thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Steve I didn't realise when I booked it was a private tour. But the expereince was awesome with Steve as our private tour guide. His knowledge of the area is fantastic and added so much more to our wondeful day out. We visited some great wineries without having to worry about driving and learnt many intersting facts along the way. Lunch was organised for us at Paulett Wines which was very delicious. We were very lucky to have a perfect South Australian winters day offering cool weather with gorgeous sun shine. The local landscape is beautiful, the drives through the various valleys that make up the Clare wine region were enjoyed immensely as we took in stunning views of vineyards and old Eucalyptus. Craig V1216 days agoOutstanding Customer Service The passion our driver Steve (James 😜) showed for his job was amazing. The local knowledge was impressive and the conversations were enjoyable. It was a perfect South Australian Winters day, cool weather, little wind and warm sun shine.The Range Rover was very comfortable and performed perfectly all day adding a touch of class to top off a pleasurable experience.We have discussed doing a private wine tour for a few years now and are very happy to have chosen Clare Valley Wine Tours.Over all the customer service was outstanding delivering a very enjoyable experience.A nice treat.Posted on Google

Terrific support from Tim RE arrangements and driving, and Steve who took us around on our marathon 4 winery tasting and lunch and made various adaptations to suit our demands - can we stop to photograph those lambs … Can we go back to … Can you help me light the fire in out air bnb please. Took us to four local cellar doors with a great tasting at each of them and the tasting hosts were really great and we got a real sense of the wines and the wine making of this beautiful area of SA. Steve was very knowledgeable and took trouble to show us the area despite poor weather and arranged a delicious simple picnic lunch in a great location as well as a welcome coffee stop. Jill Foster1374 days agoWe would thoroughly recommend this tour to see the Clare Valley wineries. It ticked all the boxes for us. To be picked up and dropped off at our motel in an extremely comfortable Range Rover enabled my husband and I to enjoy the tasting opportunities at each vineyard we visited. Our driver Steve was a delight and didn’t miss a beat. He was informative without being OTT and he took us off the touristy tracks to drive us through the vines and gain VIP access to the cellar doors. We enjoyed chatting to him between our destination stops. Another highlight of the tour was our delicious lunch at Paulett’s It was a truely enjoyable day and we were in safe hands !! Tim was filled with so much knowledge and able to answer all questions asked about the local area, wineries and extended local wineries with comparisons. My partner and I enjoy Gin. Tim was able to hook us up with a private tasting at the newly established Sawmill Gin. At the end of our trip we had asked Tim about Taxi services as we were getting dropped at a local cocktail bar to continue our evening. Tim went out of his way to come back and collect us from the cocktail bar and return us to our accommodation. Amazing service and such a kind soul. We will be back to see more with you Tim. Tim was punctual, knowledgeable about the area and it’s wineries and happy to customise the tour to our liking. We had a fantastic tour learning about the valley, met some great people and brought some great wine. Such an enjoyable day and we can’t recommend Tim highly enough. Tim took us on a fabulous wine tour around the Clare, showing us some hidden gems and sharing his knowledge of the area and the wine growing in the region. Informative, flexible, sociable and made great day even better. We would highly recommend this tour to take in all the Clare Valley highlights. The website was easy to use and well laid out which made it easy to decide which of the wine tour options I wanted to go with.Once the date and time had been booked they were very prompt in contacting me to organise the itinerary, offering helpful suggestions and were very open to including whatever wineries I chose.On the day of the tour Tim was at the agreed upon location in perfect time, and throughout the day was very calm and adaptable even when we stretched our time a little at a couple of the wineries.Would absolutely recommend and plan on using these guys the very next time we go on another tour.Posted on TripadvisorWestley A2088 days agoGreat day out! Margo C2107 days agoA great way to visit the wineries Tim was a great host. He was more than happy to include our own winery suggestions into the day’s itinerary. We got to hear about the history of the region, along with stories about the various wineries we visited. Tim managed to get us a seat in many wineries at an extremely busy time where people were being turned away (the advantage of being on a wine tour). Tim drove slowly and was very conscious of the traffic and roads. We were shown parts of wineries that you wouldn’t see if you were not with Tim( Sevehills has more to explore than just the winery) overall a top rated tour. Holski202192 days agoNot your average wine tour We came across Clare Valley Wine Tours completely by accident. After our plan to cycle the Riesling trail was rained on, we asked some locals and the only name that came up was Tim!!! He came to our rescue and saved the weekend. We could not have been happier. Tim is a wealth of knowledge, and hooked us up with a string of amazing wine tasting experiences. We started the day with nothing planned. Within 15minutes Tim had not only asked what wines interested us, he used that as a guide and booked our entire day. We chose to pack a LOT of tastings into our day. Tim was a star keeping us on time and packing our purchases safely in the super comfy car, before getting us to the next booking. I can not recommend Clare Valley Wine Tours highly enough, and can not wait to return to do it all over again. He was so knowledgeable, fun, accommodating and friendly, and curated the perfect afternoon trying some of the lesser known and most famous wineries in the Clare region. He was also a a wealth of knowledge on the region as a whole and there’s plenty of other historical places and wineries to visit next time. I learnt about the area and had the best time. Steve was an awesome fount of knowledge not only about the vineyards but also about the area.

We booked a party of four on a Private Wine Tour with lunch. It was amazing. Steve, our driver was very knowledgeable about the area and the commentary as we wound our way from vineyard to vineyard was really informative. They allowed us to customise the tour, so we included a distillery and a brewery. The highlight was Hill River and the lovely Kath. The lunch at Paulette’s was sublime, and oh the view. Money well spent and I would totally recommend.

Great private wine tour, would book again!
Our driver Steve was awesome! Great local knowledge and specific winery history was good. Great advice for different wineries offering specific grape varieties and general tourist information. Steve provided the appropriate amount of attention when required and gave us space to enjoy our wine tastings together. Can’t recommend this tour enough, if we are back this way, we would definitely book again!

Today we had one of the best experiences shared as a group of 13 friends. It was a wonderful day. A big thankyou to Tim our tour guide, who managed to share many interesting places within the Clare Valley. The adventure began with a trip to the Seven Hills Winery, then off to Jaeschke’s family farm for tea & scones with Rob & Lyn. The boys loved poking around the display of tractors, and the girls loved the restorations and history surrounding the old buildings. We had a great lunch at the Seven Hills pub, and then took another stroll back in history at the beautiful Martindale Hall. A quick stop for a coldie at the Magpie & Stump Hotel and a peaceful ride home through the valleys back to our Bentley Hotel accommodation. Thanks again Tim for your accommodating flexibility, to deliver so much more than just a wine tour.
